Not only feel the fear but the frustration as well, and find the strength to carry on !
I spent an hour composing a blog only to lose it, and then I found the draft I thought I had lost. The secret I think is to do this on a regular basis, keep Margeret Cooter as a inspiring example.
Wednesday 5th September is my start date for the M.A. Art Design and the Book
at Colchester Institute.
AND NOW it is the 5th November !!! not only have I started the course at Colchester but I have taken part in my first Artists Book Fair.

What an amazing and wonderful experience.
It helps of course if the other people that you are involved with are all such loverly and supportive people, each bringing some different but vital into the mix.
What I particularly enjoyed was meeting the public who wanted to talk to us, they were interested in our work and eager to learn about the how and the why. After all artist hand made books are a difficult concept to grasp if you have never encountered them before.
I know I have struggled at times to explain to friends just exactly what they are, and have ended the conversation by saying "look, just go and google it, if your really interested, because there are just so many different ways an artist can make a book or alter a book."
Late into the night before the show I was finishing off some of my teabag/coffee filter booklets, because from having thought I was going to be using half a table I had a whole table to display my work.
I had dismissed these note books as not 'good enough' and had left the covers to one side, but panic and desperation forced me to finish them. All four of the books went!!! and generated a lot of interest, as well as the coffee filter Al-Mutanabbi street books, but they are another blog!
As I said all those months ago "feel the fear and do it any way" The fear being they were not good enough !
